Watch: Chad VanGaalen Announces ‘Shrink Dust’ LP, Shares ‘Where Are You?’
Chad’s hoping to accompany the album with his own science fiction film. That’s right.

Chad VanGaalen has announced his return in the form of a fifth album, self-produced in his home studio at Calgary, Alberta. It’s called ‘Shrink Dust’ and it’s out through Sub Pop on 28th April.
Ever the self-starter, the record’s lead track - ‘Where Are You?’ - arrives alongside some freakish animations put together by the man himself. The song - a cascading, thrashing beast of a lead single - is available on iTunes as a free download for anyone choosing to pre-order the record now.
The new album’s set to be followed up, and in a sense conjoined with, a science fiction film of Chad’s own making, titled ‘Translated Log of Inhabitants’. It’s expected to be released later this year.
