At the turn of the year, Trailer Trash Tracys, signed to Domino Records, produced an album of almosts; where songs of fruitful melodies collapsed into something more obtuse and hidden; where blossoming ideas began to tease and turn within themselves. Some adored the ‘Ester’ album. Others found it unnecessarily challenging.

Truth is, it’s as if those at Domino had been hiding the ideas and more crucially, and without an attempt of pun - melodies - at their head office to distribute to Melody Prochet, a Parisian songwriter with an album’s worth of bubbling tones and tunes.

Melody has produced a record with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker. Domino imprint Weird World will be releasing the eponymous debut on 5th November. Something tells me the record will do brilliantly amongst those craving one last special album before the year comes to a close. It is truly teeming with some of the most carefully-crafted, innocuously delivered - and I can’t help using the word - melodies. Those left starved from another dream pop band of yesteryear will find their calling with this. It’s a delightful debut. ‘I Follow You’, below, is a highlight:
