Melody’s Echo Chamber - Unclouded

A further incantation of psych-pop goodness.

Melody's Echo Chamber - Unclouded

With their fourth full length, ‘Unclouded’ sees Melody’s Echo Chamber return with an impressive ensemble - including co-producer Sven Wunder. Like slipping into reverie after slurping a psychoactive brew and then cascading down the rabbit hole, ‘The House That Doesn’t Exist’ opens this 12-track treat by pulling one into a fairytale-like land, with Melody’s ever-saccharine harmonies augmenting the string serenade and jangled-guitars. ‘Broken Roses’ offers a balmy breeze, while a standout comes in the way of ‘Eyes Closed’, a heady affair that brings in Neu!-like krautrock sensibilities and chunky Dungen psych-riffs, but this is an unapologetically psychedelic album. A case in point is ‘Memory’s Underground’, which sees a swirling psychotropic cyclone build into a Brian Jonestown Massacre-laced cinematic freakout. Overall, ‘Unclouded’ is a further incantation of psych-pop goodness.
