Neu’s got you covered for new music recommendations and nights out this week. Each day we’ll give you a choice gig, plus a selection of fresh artists to check out.
THE GIG
Responsible for one of the most eye-opening singles of the year in ‘Ima Read’, expect London’s Sebright Arms to welcome Zebra Katz (pictured, above) in like a potential superstar. And expect a slew of hipsters to grimly echo the words “Imma take that bitch to college, Imma give that bitch some knowledge.” But don’t worry. Stand in a corner and say hello to a soon to be household name.
Zebra Katz plays London’s Sebright Arms, tonight.
THE SONG
Brighton producer Eagles for Hands has done his absolute best at distracting us for several hours straight with his ridiculously immersive array of fine electronic sounds. The finest of which, ‘Hot Telescopic’, is enough to render the average listener lifeless and all consumed by the heated combination of Bonobo-like textures and excitable Luke Abbott-esque arrangements.
FURTHER NEU BUSINESS
Sydney beatmaker Flume has yet to give us any worldwide release date, but his debut full-length (previewed above in that tasty teaser player), gets an Australasia (is that the correct term? Western ignorance) release on 9th November, in Australia + New Zealand through Future Classics. He’s 20 years old, but there’s every chance that when he’s in his mid-twenties he’ll still be soundtracking every late night in existence. So keep an eye out.
