THE GIG
Girl Band, Shudder Pulps, Tourist, Adolescent, Dark Knight & The Pale Rider - Brighton, Blind Tiger
If you can’t find the sound of the future here you’ll be tough out of luck in discovering it anywhere else. Brighton’s biggest electronic talents in Tourist (pictured, above) and Adolescent combine with the raw, merciless headliners Girl Band. And they only form a fraction of this all-star line-up.
THE SONG
Milo M - Suburbia
Suburbia by Milo M
For every idealistic summer escape, 98% of normal people spend their time dumbfounded by the beauty of a hot day. They’ll either be drunk, bleary-eyed, or too concerned with not having the backs of their neck savaged by the midday heat. Milo M’s debut track captures the balmy atmosphere of the closing hours of a beautiful day. It’s when life settles into a busied flow, where you’re sunken and satisfied from the blazing sun, ready to enter the night.
OTHER NEU BUSINESS
King of Cats - Ulcers
King Of Cats is Brighton-based Max Levy - sometimes with an acoustic guitar, sometimes with an electric guitar, sometimes with a bassist and drummer, sometimes on his own. Always, though, always unique. He’s an incredibly under-appreciated and very interesting and talented songwriter - possibly largely down to his opinion-splitting, unusual vocal - and this new song is further proof of that. It’s due for release on an EP through ASDFG Records on 24th June. [Jake May]
