Quite possibly the track with the most exclamation marks in its entire title (we haven’t checked the back catalogues of !!! or Gravy Train!!!! mind you), Los Campesinos!’ most immediate track of the original demos took us completely by storm back in early summer 2006, its incredible build up making it easily one of that season’s growers - both in terms of loving it more every listen, and the song’s structure.
While the only thing really earning the Cardiff-based indie-popsters the title of ‘the British Arcade Fire is the fact they’ve got both lots of members and various less-than-usual instruments, the band do at least manage to pull off a spoken section in the song. Which, as Eddie Argos will tell you, isn’t an easy prospect.
We have to admit that the re-recording of the track for its ‘single proper’ release (and therefore the only thing allowing the song to feature in this year’s countdown) isn’t as great as we’d imagined - the pronunciation of ‘dancing’ in comparison to the original grates rather - but that’s not nearly enough to dampen Los Camp’s fire as far as ‘You! Me! Dancing!’ is concerned. Bring on the album!
