In the magazine March 2022

Featuring Wet Leg, Nilüfer Yanya, Nova Twins, The Mysterines and more.

Ever since the slick but sarcastic sounds of Wet Leg’s insatiable debut ‘Chaise Longue’ landed in DIY’s inbox last summer, much like the rest of music fans everywhere, we were well and truly hooked. A glorious mix of deadpan wit, peppy beats and scuzzed-up guitars, it was the track that changed it all for the band. And now, less than a year on, we couldn’t be more thrilled to be inviting the duo to our cover to celebrate the forthcoming release of their brilliant self-titled record and the whirlwind journey they’ve found themselves on so far.

That’s not all we’re offering up in our March 2022 edition: the wonderful Nilüfer Yanya opens up about her new album ‘PAINLESS’, The Mysterines welcome us into their Liverpudlian base to chat their unexpectedly challenging debut, and we dive into the brilliant new album from Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul. We chat to New York’s BODEGA about their scepticism of technology, and dig into the deceptive pop edge of Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard’s first full-length.

And that’s not all! We also get the scoop on what to expect from Nova Twins’ forthcoming second album - the perfectly-titled ‘Supernova’ - and have a catch up with mxmtoon following the release of her latest single ‘mona lisa’. Plus, we start prepping for The Greatest Live Event Happening in East London this year (you know of course it is!) - DIY Alive! We chat to Sunday night headliner Lily Moore, and quiz a few others gracing the line-up for good measure.
