In the magazine November 2025

Featuring CMAT, Danny Brown, Picture Parlour, Sorry and more.

There aren’t too many ways to get straight into the hearts of Team DIY, but launching your career with a KFC-inspired anthem will definitely go a long way towards it. And so, for the better part of five years now, we’ve been head over heels for CMAT, in all her extroverted, OTT glory - and that’s certainly not changing for the foreseeable. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome the Dunboyne Diana herself back to our cover to reflect on her massive 2025 and our very own Album of the Year, ‘EURO-COUNTRY’.

“This whole year has been a turning point for me,” she says in our cover feature, thinking back over some of the last 12 months’ biggest moments. “But honestly, I think the biggest zero to 100 of all time was probably Glastonbury. I kind of get my rocks off on stage, that’s the thing. I don’t really need to go to a nightclub because I go on stage for my job and expel a certain thing. People have this opinion that sex, drugs, and rock’n’roll are conducive to songwriting, but actually I think it’s being introspective. I find the more boring I become, the better the show becomes.”

We’re not just in a reminiscing mood this month, though; we’re also looking ahead with Danny Brown’s collaborative, future-focused new record; catching up with ’70s rockstars reincarnate Picture Parlour; and diving into the distorted world of Sorry’s third album as they try on a few new guises for size. We also learn more about Allie X’s daring, uncompromising next chapter; do some soul-searching with Stella Donnelly; catch up with Chilli Jesson about his personal new project Dead Dads Club; and uncover the thrilling new frontiers of Daniel Avery’s rock-inspired latest outing, ‘Tremor’.

Over in this month’s Neu section - aka your essential guide to all things new music - we drift off with dream-pop risers She’s In Parties, get to grips with enigmatic London seven-piece The Orchestra (For Now), and hear some early new year’s resolutions from Hohnen Ford. Plus, we also weigh in on the album EVERYONE’s talking about - Lily Allen’s exposing new opus, obvs - and get stuck into gig season with live reviews of JADE, Queens Of The Stone Age, Robbie Williams and more.

So come on - get stuck in! Order your print copy via our online shop below, or check out the digital edition at the top of the page.
