There aren’t too many ways to get straight into the hearts of Team DIY, but launching your career with a KFC-inspired anthem will definitely go a long way towards it. And so, for the better part of five years now, we’ve been head over heels for CMAT, in all her extroverted, OTT glory - and that’s certainly not changing for the foreseeable. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome the Dunboyne Diana herself back to our cover to reflect on her massive 2025 and our very own Album of the Year, ‘EURO-COUNTRY’. 

“This whole year has been a turning point for me,” she says in our cover feature, thinking back over some of the last 12 months’ biggest moments. “But honestly, I think the biggest zero to 100 of all time was probably Glastonbury. I kind of get my rocks off on stage, that’s the thing. I don’t really need to go to a nightclub because I go on stage for my job and expel a certain thing. People have this opinion that sex, drugs, and rock’n’roll are conducive to songwriting, but actually I think it’s being introspective. I find the more boring I become, the better the show becomes.”
