Adam Barnes warms the heart with his new ‘One Day We’ll Be Fine’ EP
The Oxford songwriter expands horizons on his latest release, streaming in full exclusively on DIY.

There’s a warmth that exudes from everything Adam Barnes lays his name to. As winter starts to creep into view, his new EP ‘One Day We’ll Be Fine’ is the comforting and familiar blanket that keeps the chill at bay, and we have the exclusive stream of it for you here on DIY. Don’t say we never do anything for you.
The five tracks within see Adam (with a little help from his merry band of fellow musicians) take his tender take on songwriting down new paths - from the anthemic, plugged in stadium-baiting of ‘I Can’t Love You Anymore’, to the more anecdotal Springsteen-isms of the appropriately-titled ‘Nebraska’, via the Bon Iver romantic intimacy of EP opener ‘Darling’, it’s the sound of a potentially household-name songwriter stretching his muscles.
Released through his own label imprint Wild Native Records, ‘One Day We’ll Be Fine’ sees some of Adam’s most intimate moments to date dusted off and pushed into the limelight. ‘I Can’t Love You Anymore’ in particular addresses his parents’ divorce, Adam explaining that, “towards the end of my late teens they split and it’s never really been something I’ve talked or written about before, but I had to. I know it’s something so many people my age have lived through. ‘I Can’t Love You Anymore’ is such a straight up sentence, but in that situation I guess it needs to be quite blunt.” Bluntness abounds on ‘One Day We’ll Be Fine’ - straight-to-the-heart in its approach, it’s a promising next step.
True to his old-school, dirty-fingernails approach to building a fanbase, Adam once again takes to the road this October in support of the release - check out the full dates below a stream of the full ‘One Day We’ll Be Fine’ EP.
