Hello, it's me

Adele’s new album ‘25’ is breaking all of the records

Her third album is currently the fastest selling record in US history.

Adele's new album '25' is breaking all of the records

Somewhat predictably, Adele’s new album ‘25’ is breaking just about every sales record going.

As of Tuesday (24th November), 2.8 million copies had been bought in US within a single week; with 2.3m of those sales coming within just three days of release. That total looks set to rise further as the week comes to a close. ‘25’ is now the fastest selling record in the country’s history, knocking N Sync’s ‘No Strings Attached’ (2.4m sales in a single week) from the top spot.

It’s a similar story in the UK, where ‘25’ is currently the second fastest selling record of all time, with sales of over half a million within the first week of release. According to Official Charts Company, Adele is “well on the way” to claiming the record. The only album left to beat is Oasis’ ‘97 release ‘Be Here Now’.

Adele’s huge sales surge is probably, in part, down to the fact she decided not to stream her album before release. It’s also down to that fact that she is Adele, lets face it. Listen to ‘Hello’ below.
