Big Thief’s Adrianne Lenker announces solo LP ‘abysskiss’
The record - out in October via Saddle Creek - is being previewed by first track ‘cradle’.
After Big Thief released their second album ‘Capacity’ last year, the band’s vocalist Adrianne Lenker has now announced a solo album of her own.
‘abysskiss’ will come out on 5th October via Saddle Creek, and is being previewed by first track ‘cradle’.
‘cradle’ is a gorgeously tender first insight into the record, with hushed vocals wafting around soft, plucked acoustic guitar.
“I want to archive the songs in their original forms every few years,” Adrianna says of the origins of ‘abysskiss’.
“My first solo record I made was ‘Hours Were the Birds’. I had just turned 21 and moved to New York City where I was sleeping in a warehouse, working in a restaurant and photographing pigeons. Now five years later, another skin is being shed.”
