Alice Glass details abuse allegations against Crystal Castles’ Ethan Kath
Kath, she alleges, subjected her to ” a decade of abuse, manipulation and psychological control.”
Alice Glass has spoken out about the reasons behind her split from her former band Crystal Castles in a new statement. In the past, Glass has alluded to tensions between her and her former bandmate Ethan Kath; now, she’s detailed her experiences during her time in the band. Kath, she alleges, subjected her to ” a decade of abuse, manipulation and psychological control.”
“The momentum that’s been created recently by the many courageous women who have opened up about their own stories has inspired me to finally be more direct,” she said, referencing the allegations made against director Harvey Weinstein by numerous Hollywood actresses, and subsequently, women across the world speaking up about their experiences.”
Alice Glass’ full statement can be read here. Please be aware that it contains accounts of rape, assault, and abuse that some readers may find upsetting.
Glass has released her debut EP as a solo artist this year and is set to play a handful of live shows in the US. Full details here.
Following these allegations, multiple Crystal Castles shows have been cancelled.
