Alt-J score Number One album with ‘This Is All Yours’

The DIY cover stars finish ahead of Barbra Streisand by over 5,000 copies.

Current DIY cover stars Alt-J have scored a Number One album with new record, ‘This Is All Yours’.

The trio’s second long-player finished over 5,000 copies ahead of its nearest challenger, Barbra Streisand, whose ‘Partners’ is at Number Two. The Top Five is completed by Sam Smith, George Ezra and Leonard Cohen.

Aphex Twin’s ‘Syro’, widely considered Alt-J’s main competition throughout the week, is at Number 8 - also a personal best.

Speaking to the Official Charts Company, Alt-J’s Gus Unger-Hamilton said “We’re over the moon to see our album at number one. It was never something we thought we’d achieve, but it’s our fans who have put us there so we owe this to them.”.

Alt-J have just finished a massive UK and Ireland tour which saw them headline Alexandra Palace in London. They headline the O2 Arena next January (24th).
