Antesmasque Announce Debut, Self-titled Album
Flea x Mars Volta supergroup release their debut this July.

Just a week after arriving on the scene, Antemasque aka the supergroup to rule them all have announced one of this summer’s most anticipated albums. Self-titled, it’s the first release from a band consisting of Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Dave Elitch. and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez from The Mars Volta, plus Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers.
So the story goes, these guys started ‘jamming’ together, regaling tales of their time in other bands, like the one time Flea received a bass guitar from Damien Hirst. As these stories progressed, as did the songs. Several of them were recorded in crazed sessions, all amounting to Antesmasque’s debut, released on 15th July.
‘We were planning to release just one track last week, ‘4AM,’ but we ended up releasing the other two songs, ‘Hangin’ in the Lurch’ and ‘People Forget,’ because of the amazing response from our fans,’ says Rodríguez-López in a statement apart the band’s past few days.
They’ve also unveiled a new track, ‘Drown All Your Witches’. Sinister. Watch it over on SPIN.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
