Aphex Twin announces his first U.S. date in 8 years
Richard D James performs as part of Houston’s Day For Night festival in December.
Hot on the heels of the release of his latest EP ‘Cheetah,’ Aphex Twin has announced that he’ll be playing his first show in America in eight years.
He’ll be appearing at some point during this year’s Day For Night Festival in Houston, which takes place on 17th and 18th December. It’s been even longer since you could see Richard D James in the US by buying an advance tickets - a whopping 17 years!
Festival producer Omar Afra told Billboard that James’ appearance is “the second moon landing for Houston.” It’s definitely more than just one small step for the festival, which is only in its second year.
Aphex Twin also shared a little GIF teaser in advance of the festival appearance on Twitter, which you can see below.
