Aphex Twin unveils ‘minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix]’ from new album

Taken from his first album in thirteen years, ‘Syro’, Aphex Twin has shared a new track, ‘minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix]’.

Gaining its first play on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show as a Hottest Record, this is the first taste of Richard D. James’ latest record.

‘Syro’ is out 23rd September via Warp Records. Fans are being given the chance to listen to the record in advance at listening parties across the world. Lottery winners have been confirmed - London’s listening party takes place at The Laundry.

‘mini pops…’ is the opening track on ‘Syro’. Building upon flickering, stop-start electronic patterns, it brings in robotic vocal loops and layer upon layer of head-spinning synth wizardry. By his standards, it’s pretty accessible.
