Arcade Fire celebrate Halloween with really weird ‘Festi’ video
Starring James Murphy, Slash, Peter Gabriel and the Dessner twins.
You’d think one of the biggest bands in the world might not have time to put together a twenty-minute long, surrealist concept video to celebrate Halloween - something amassed in the last three years, by the looks of it - but there you go.
Arcade Fire have shared ‘Festi’, a completely messed up video that features the following things, in order of WTF interest:
- Peter Gabriel dressed as a security guard.
- Bryce and Aaron Dessner creeping everyone the hell out by being weird twins.
- James Murphy being a sad DJ because he’s not in LCD Soundsystem.
- Andrew Garfield dressed as - who else? - Spiderman.
- Fleet Foxes being Fleet Foxes by singing songs and having beards.
The whole concept is based around Will Butler turning 27 and trying escape the awful celebrity fate of joining the ’27 Club’. It begins fairly routine, scattered with tour footage, but things take a few improbable turns.
