Arcade Fire could be starting something big in April. Maybe.

Drummer Jeremy Gara revealed more about the band’s plans in a new interview.

Arcade Fire drummer Jeremy Gara is releasing his own solo record ‘Limn’ on 11th March, but he’s said that he has to put his own tour plans on hold because of his commitments to the Fire.

He told Red Bull Poland in a recent interview: “unfortunately, this is difficult, because Arcade Fire, for obvious reasons is a very important part of my plans.” He continued: “I don’t know where we’re going to play, I don’t know when we start, or when we finish. From my perspective, it looks like Arcade Fire starts in April and finish around April 2019”.

When asked about the much-anticipated new album, Jeremy said: “All of [the songs] have been recorded. The album should come out this year.” He admitted that he didn’t know when the LP would actually come out, but said that the band are in the mixing process and need to decide which tracks to include on the finished record.

There’s been numerous signs pointing to a new record from the Canadians for a while. Last year they played some new material at a teeny weeny surprise show in New Orleans, which according to The Times-Picayune had “a sharp focus on heavy topics but percussive-heavy beats and a flavor of disco”.

This year the band are set to headline Primavera, RockWerchter, Best Kept Secret, Isle of White and InMusic (basically all of the festivals then), and that’s always a bit of a hint at grand plans in the works. Keep watching this space…
