Arlo Parks confirms details of new album ‘Ambiguous Desire’
She’s introduced us to the heady world of her third outing with its lead single, ‘2SIDED’.

Former DIY cover star Arlo Parks has returned with the news that she’ll be dropping her third studio album, ‘Ambiguous Desire’, on 3rd April via Transgressive Records.
The follow-up to 2023’s ‘My Soft Machine’, her new LP was created in collaboration with producer Baird (Brockhampton, Kevin Abstract), and was born out of a period of self-(re)discovery which saw her immerse herself in the freeing, sweaty embrace of nightlife culture, gleaning fresh inspiration from the likes of The Streets, LCD Soundsystem, Burial, and the scene surrounding NYC’s iconic Paradise Garage.
“I danced more than ever as I made this record, I made more friends than ever too, found myself in the weird underbelly of New York juke nights, unleashed, laughed and laughed and laughed,” Arlo has reflected, discussing the genesis of ‘Ambiguous Desire’. “This record has desire at its centre. Desire is a life force, it’s a wanting, a yearning, a momentum - we are all alive because there is something or someone we want - desire is an engine. But it is also mysterious, tangled, random, enlightening and HUMAN.”
Opening the door to her dancefloor is lead single ‘2SIDED’ - an instant-classic sad banger “about yearning and tension” that arrives alongside a suitably heady, hedonistic video. Check it out for yourself here:
What’s more, Arlo has also revealed that she’ll be celebrating her album release week with a special run of intimate in-store shows around the UK. Tickets are available with a purchase of ‘Ambiguous Desire’ via the respective album retailer.
