Augustines Announce New Self-Titled Album, KOKO Show
‘Augustines’ will be released on 3rd February through Votiv/Caroline International.
Having revealed their brand new track ‘Nothing To Lose But Your Head’ last week, Augustines have announced plans to release a brand new album.
Formerly known as We Are Augustines, the trio are following up their debut album ‘Rise Ye Sunken Ships’ with their self-titled sophomore effort on 3rd February.
Set for release through Votiv/Caroline International and produced by Peter Katis, their new effort was recorded in a converted 19th century church in Geneseo, New York aka Temperamental Recordings. It also sees them deal in more uplifting subject matter, in comparison to their debut, as singer Billy McCarthey explains.
‘The first record was obviously very personal. It was about cold, hard truth. Cold, hard fact. There was nothing I could do to help any of the characters in the songs last time. This time it’s absolutely about having the ability to help all the characters in the songs. There’s an empowerment to it.“
The band will also be making two stops in the UK to celebrate the new album. Whilst their intimate show at London’s Lexington on 21st January is already sold out, the trio have confirmed additional plans to perform at London’s KOKO on 14th April.
