BADBADNOTGOOD flip the book with new remix of Future Islands

Toronto trio’s edit brings in a dazzling, future-jazz aesthetic.

Trust BADBADNOTGOOD not to tick the ‘everyday remix’ box with this, their version of ‘Seasons (Waiting On You)’ by Future Islands.

Instead of basking in the glitzy, hip-thrusting glow of the original, the Canadian jazz-fusioning trio have instead placed Samuel T. Herring and co. in the thick of a smoky bar, set some twenty years in the future. Thick bass notes steal the spotlight, while chiming piano keys get distorted in every way imaginable.

Gone is the gorgeous electronic gleam of the ‘Singles’ highlight - in steps something drastically different, a new look entirely.

BBNG’s remix is available as a free download on US Amazon.

Future Islands’ ‘Singles’ and BADBADNOTGOOD’s ‘III’ both came out earlier this year.

The Baltimore group arrive in the UK next year for the following dates:

MARCH 2015
30 London, Roundhouse
31 London, Roundhouse
