Bastille debut ‘The Driver’, taken from ‘Radio 1 Rescores: Drive’ project

Bastille have unveiled their contribution to Zane Lowe’s ‘Radio 1 Rescores: Drive’ soundtrack.

The song, ‘The Driver’, got a first play on Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show this evening (27th October). You can stream it below.

The re-soundtracking of the 2011 Ryan Gosling film also features contributions from CHVRCHES, FOALS and Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil, amongst others. It gets a full airing on BBC Three this Thursday, 30th October.

The full list of artists involved is as follows: The 1975, Baauer, BANKS, Bastille, Bring Me The Horizon, CHVRCHES, Eric Prydz, Foals, Jon Hopkins, Laura Mvula, The Neighbourhood, SBTRKT and ZCC (aka Simon Neil).

In the lead up to the one-off airing of the film with its new soundtrack, Lowe will also be inviting Bastille and ZCC to perform their contributions live in the ‘Drive Lounge’ (ahem). They’ll perform during Annie Mac’s show - while she fills in for Fearne Cotton - earlier in the day on 30th October.

Speaking of the project, which has been blessed by the film’s director Nicolas Winding Refn, Zane Lowe has said: “Honestly, this is the most exciting thing that this show has ever been involved in. It’s the most ambitious, awesome thing we’ve ever done. We’ve been working on it all year and we’re super-proud of it – you don’t want to miss this!”
