Getting cinematic
Bastille enlist Game of Thrones’ Sansa Stark for ‘Oblivion’ video
The four-piece have unveiled the final clip to be taken from their ‘Bad Blood’ debut.
Bastille have never been a band to shy away from the cinematic elements of life. Their previous videos for ‘Pompeii’ and ‘Things We Lost In The Fire’ are proof enough of that, with their intense story lines and surrealist influences. Luckily, they’re sticking to their guns for their latest offering, which comes in the form of ‘Oblivion’.
One of the most slow-paced and introspective numbers from their debut album ‘Bad Blood’, the track’s melancholy is reflected within their new clip. Starring none other than Game Of Thrones star Sophie Turner, aka Sansa Stark, we meet her as she prepares to nervously take to the microphone in the centre of a demolition derby track; a rare quiet moment, in the midst of carnage.
Directed by Austin Peters, who also directed the clips for ‘Flaws’ and ‘Laura Palmer’, the video also doubles as the final clip in - according to the press release - “a series of short stories” as explored in the rest of the band’s ‘Bad Blood’ videos.
Bastille have a handful of summer festivals lined up, including performances at this year’s V Festival.
