Bastille Enters The Album Charts At Number One
‘Bad Blood’ is sitting pretty at the top of the charts.

This month’s DIY cover stars, Bastille, have entered the Official UK Charts at Number One, with their debut album ‘Bad Blood’.
Although they were leading the race during the midweeks, when we spoke to the band’s frontman, Dan on Friday, he seemed wholly unconvinced that they’d maintain their chart lead. ‘I’m sure that will rapidly change over the course of the week!’ He incorrectly predicted. The Stereophonics, who were behind by a couple of thousand in the midweek chart, eventually slipped to third place behind Emeli Sande.
‘It’s very bizarre. But also y’know, it’s so very cool that people have bought it and stuff. And just to have the album out, I think. But yeah, really really weird. I can’t really comprehend that at all. It’s just something I can’t get my head around. We’re obviously very happy, but again I think probably slightly in denial.’
Obviously, we’re hoping that his other prediction will be widely off the mark. ‘If we go in at Number One I’ll probably just quit. I dunno. I can’t really comprehend that happening to be honest. I’ll probably have a bit of a meltdown.’
That’s not all for the face of this month’s DIY, either, as their single, ‘Pompeii’ remains in the Top 5, dropping only one spot to Number Three.
Probably best not to quit just yet, Dan…
