Neu Pick
BEAU light a spark with ‘Fire’
New York duo find euphoria in their new track, premiering on DIY as today’s Neu Pick.
Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from BEAU.
There’s an overwhelming warmth to BEAU’s future-facing take on folk. The NYC duo, made up of Heather Boo and Emma Rose, take that feeling and let it soar on latest single ‘Fire’, premiering below on DIY.
Channeling the timelessness of stripped-back singer-songwriters in the Bob Dylan and Patti Smith mould - the latter of which they played for at Cannes Film Festival - it’s a track which soars ahead of their contemporaries. An individual voice in a world plagued by imitators, BEAU’s tender take on warm, acoustic-led poetics is beyond compare.
Stream ‘Fire’ below, first on DIY, and then nab it as a free download right here. BEAU’s debut album ‘That Thing Reality’ is due out on Kitsuné on March 11th.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
