Beck, Swim Deep, Unknown Mortal Orchestra & more to feature on FIFA 16 soundtrack
Football’s coming home, music is the real winner etc..
Besides talking to mates, going to gigs and reading DIY (obviously), FIFA soundtracks are the biggest tastemaker of them all. When you’re trying to negotiate an £8 million scoop for Sergio Aguero, first of all, what world do you live in and secondly, you’ll be listen to the same handful of tracks, on repeat, for hours.
Steve Schnur - who spoke to DIY for last year’s feature on music discovery - has this to say about the soundtrack for FIFA 16, which picks out the likes of Swim Deep and Years & Years: “FIFA has traditionally been gaming’s foremost international showcase for new artists of every genre.”
Beck’s ‘Dreams’ single has made the cut. This month’s cover stars Foals also feature, with ‘Mountain At My Gates’. And there’s room for newcomers Raury, BØRNS and Speelburg.
