Belfast five-piece Pleasure Beach have always dreamt big, but new single ‘Magic Mountain’ gives their lucid imagination a true footing.

Their most substantial, breakneck-speed moment to date, it borrows from a road trip Springsteen stamp before diving into the unknown. “There’s a ribbon cut around my soul,” runs a thrashing chorus, and throughout Pleasure Beach give the impression of lost young hearts seeking escape. When music of this ilk - sky-reaching atmospherics, racing guitar lines - truly kicks in, it’s like nothing else out there.
