Benjamin Booker airs double video, ‘The Future is Slow Coming’
Booker plays a big slot at Latitude Festival this July.
Benjamin Booker has combined two tracks from his debut album into one emotional juggernaut of a video, ‘The Future is Slow Coming’.
Bringing together ‘Slow Coming’ and ‘Wicked Waters’, Booker also navigates two distinct but eerily similar passages in history - Deep South segregation from the past and the currently racial storm sweeping America, post-Ferguson.
“We’ve all got iPhones and are talking about taking people to Mars, but look at how much we haven’t changed. The ‘future,’ a time when all this violence and hatred is looked at as barbaric seemed so far away to me,” Booker told NPR.
Director James Lees says: “Contemporary issues that the video references are repetitions of events we have watched happen many times before.”

Benjamin Booker will play Latitude Festival (16th-19th July), where DIY is an Official Media Partner. Tickets are on sale now. Visit diymag.com/presents for more information.
