Benjamin Francis Leftwich announces new album ‘After The Rain’, shares ‘Tilikum’

Singer-songwriter’s second album is due via Dirty Hit on August 19th.

Five years after the release of his debut, Benjamin Francis Leftwich has returned with a second album, ‘After The Rain’. It’s being led by ‘Tilikum’, the album’s first track and a track written in the wake of the death of Benjamin’s father. In a post shared on Facebook, he explained that the event, “totally broke me”. “I was broken for a while,” he continues, “but putting what I wanted to say into songs has helped carry me back into the world again.” Fragile and steeped in emotion, ‘Tilikum’ was written opposite his father’s old house and produced by Charlie Andrews (Alt-J, Money) - you can stream it below via Spotify. ‘After The Rain’ follows Benjamin’s 2011 debut album ‘Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm’ - it’s set for release on August 19th via Dirty Hit Records. Ahead of that, Benjamin’s lined up a mammoth spring tour - dates for that are below the player, with tickets on sale Monday.
