Big Thief’s debut album is very good, streaming in full

Big Thief were asking for trouble when they named their debut album ‘Masterpiece’, but there’s no hubris involved here - they’ve delivered a fantastic first work.
The whole thing is streaming in full now, via NPR. It contains the all-enveloping title-track, the gigantic ‘Real Love’ and ‘Paul’, which debuted on DIY last week.
Across this album, singer Adrianne Lenker dreams big, matching grand concepts with melodies designed to be sung from skyscrapers. Whether it’s love, loss or a new lease of life, everything’s delivered with a grand sense of adventure.
Stream below - it’s out 27th May via Saddle Creek.
