Björk has revealed that her forthcoming new album is due out in 2015.
The Icelandic star confirmed the news when addressing why she couldn’t attend the London premiere of her film, ‘Biophilia Live’.
Up to now, we’ve heard precious little detail about the release, which is set to follow-up 2011’s’ ‘Biophilia’. In a recent interview, London-based producer Arca confirmed that he’s working on the record, although he had to clarify that he’s co-producing the LP with Björk. Previously he’s put his name to Kanye West and FKA twigs releases - his own ‘Xen’ debut is out this year on Mute.
““We are so sorry, but since Björk is already working on her next album (out in 2015!) she can not come to the ‘Biophilia Live’ premiere at the London Film Festival this week,” a Facebook post stated.
‘Biophilia live’ is the latest event to support the album of the same name, which arrived as a multimedia app before becoming part of a recent installation at New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
