Björk’s playing a special homecoming show at Iceland Airwaves 2016

Ticket-holders get first dibs on her gig at Harpa’s Eldborg room.

Björk is set to play a special show in her home country of Iceland during this edition of the Airwaves festival. She’ll play at Harpa’s Eldborg room on 5th November.

Existing Airwaves ticket-holders will get first dibs on the gig, and can buy tickets from this Thursday (29th September) General sale for everyone else opens on 3rd October.

The show comes after Björk confirmed she’s currently in the studio working on new music. Giving an ever-illuminating update earlier this year, she said “I’m still allowing myself to be a submarine.” Right, then.

She’s also kickstarted a two month takeover in London - her exhibition ‘Björk Digital’ is on at London’s Somerset House right now. Among other things, the exhibition offers visitors the chance to sit inside a recreation of Björk’s own mouth.

PJ Harvey, Julia Holter, Santigold, and Warpaint also play Iceland Airwaves. Head here for all the details.
