Blue Hawaii have announced new album ‘Tenderness’

How long has it been since Blue Hawaii released their album ‘Untogether’? Vague answer: too long. Slightly more specific answer: four years.

Yep, it’s been nearly half a decade since Raphaelle ‘Ra’ Standell and Alexander ‘Agor’ Kerby released their first album under the name, with Ra mostly focusing on her other project BRAIDS since. But last year the pair kindled their musical relationship once more, and now their new album ‘Tenderness’ is set to come out on 6th October via Arbutus Records.

The sixteen-track album is set to explore the challenges of managing and handling relationships online, getting the balance right between closeness and distance and the need for more tenderness generally, both in real life and in the virtual sphere. It’s also set to draw influence from 90s dance tracks and deeper disco cuts.

That’s evident on the pair’s lead track from the record, ‘No One Like You’. Underneath Ra’s vocals it has a steady disco pulse that blooms as the track progresses.
