Bombay Bicycle Club share video for ‘Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You)’, announce new album ‘Everything Else Has Gone Wrong’ and 2020 tour
Phew! The BBC boys are officially back, baby!
“In 2016, the UK was rocked by a seismic event… Bombay Bicycle Club went on indefinite hiatus.” So begins the tongue-in-cheek video for Bombay’s first track in five (FIVE!) years. Released today, the Louis Bhose-directed visuals for ‘Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You)’ show each of the guys - Jack Steadman, Ed Nash, Jamie MacColl and Suren de Saram - isolated and missing each other, building shrines dedicated to their fellow bandmates. “It is tongue-in-cheek but also converts how much we’ve missed making music together,” they said in a statement published on Twitter. We’re not crying, you’re crying.
And that’s not all! They’ve also confirmed that their brand new album (following 2014’s ‘So Long, See You Tomorrow’) will be called ‘Everything Else Has Gone Wrong’ and will be released on 17th January 2020. “This is an album for anyone who’s ever turned to music in a time of crisis, whether personal or political,” the band say. “It’s about the solace once can get from listening to music or playing music when everything else in your life or the world has gone wrong. It’s about finding kernels of hope and renewal in dire situations.”
To celebrate the album release, they’ll be heading out on tour with The Big Moon and Liz Lawrence next year too! All details below. Welcome back Bombay, we missed ya.
