Booking now Bon Iver announces ‘For Emma, Forever Ago’ anniversary concert
Justin Vernon’s debut album came out ten years ago.
Bon Iver first self-released debut album ‘For Emma, Forever Ago’ back in 2007. Recorded in Justin Vernon’s log cabin in Wisconsin, it was the record that kickstarted a long career; thanks to word of mouth success, and then, a flashy proper release on Jagjaguwar.
Now, Bonny Bear’s celebrating the album’s 10th birthday with a special celebratory concert at Milwaukee’s BMO Harris Bradley Center. Taking place on 17th February next year “a number of musical guests old and new” will feature in the show. Collections Of Colonies Of Bees and Field Report will also perform.
A limited edition re-issue of the album - only available at the merch desk of this newly announced show, and in small numbers on Bon Iver’s website - will feature alternative artwork, and a liner-notes essay by Trever Hagen. That’s out on 16th February.
Listen to ‘re:Stacks’ from the album below.
