Bon Iver returns with new single ‘S P E Y S I D E’, announces ‘SABLE,’ EP

Bon Iver has returned with his first new music in more than five years today, with the release of his new single ‘S P E Y S I D E’. 

It marks the first offering to be taken from his forthcoming three-track EP ‘SABLE,’, which is due for release on 18th October via Jagjaguwar, and sees the musician - also known as Justin Vernon - make somewhat of a return to the stripped-back folk of his early career. The three tracks were written between 2020 and last year, before being recorded in his studio April Base near Eau Claire, with production from Justin himself, along with Jim-E Stack.

The acoustic-led lead track, ‘S P E Y S I D E’ feels more akin to the raw offerings of 2007’s ‘For Emma, Forever Ago’ or its 2011 self-titled follow-up than his more recent work, and doubles as his first new material since his last album ‘i,i’ was released in 2019.
