Brontide Announce New Album ‘Artery’
The band have also announced plans to play a one-off London show at Hackney’s Oslo on 26th June.
Having been hinting at its release for quite some time now, Brontide have announced details of their brand new album, ‘Artery’.
Set to follow-up the Nottingham-based three-piece’s long-awaited debut ‘Sans Souci’, their sophomore record is due for release on 30th June through Holy Roar Records.
‘Generally, I do think we’ve come up with something much more concise,’ the band’s Tim Hancock told DIY of the record, ‘and assured than the previous album. It’s coming in shorter than the last one. We developed it a little bit in the first record, but there’s quite a lot of electronic instruments; there’s quite a lot more of that in this one. It’s less reliant on creating the loops to put stuff over the top of, in the sense that we can play it as it is.
‘I think whereas before we maybe strived to write quite complex music, we’ve definitely gone for something where we’ve just wanted to create something much more musical. This time around, melody and groove has been a much bigger focus, as opposed to, ‘Right, let’s make this quite tech and big’. We kinda wanted to avoid going over the top, so I think it’s a lot more interesting.’
To celebrate the announcement, the band have unveiled a brand new track, titled ‘Cabin’. Listen to it below.
Recorded at Coach Road Studios in Kent, the trio’s latest record is eight tracks in length, and you can find the tracklisting below.
1. Tonitro

5. Knives

Brontide have also announced plans to play a one-off London show to celebrate the album’s release, at Hackney’s Oslo on 26th June.
