Caity Baser unveils introspective new pop single, ‘Running From Myself’

Caity Baser is back with an uptempo and introspective new track, ‘Running From Myself’ - released via Capitol Records.

The release comes shortly after Baser’s latest single ‘Watch That Girl (She’s Gonna Say It’)’. Both tracks were recorded using a full live band of fourteen strings and six brass players, debuting a new direction for the pop artist.

The 22-year-old cited that the idea for the single came during a writing session with the pop duo, Oh Wonder - who she collaborated with on the song. “One of us said “it feels like you’ve been running from yourself”…and inspiration struck,” said Baser on the moment the track was born. “Within 15 minutes the song was basically done.”

Baser went on to explain that the honest track confronted her need to hide her emotions behind a mask. “There have been times throughout my career when I would feel very sad or emotional about certain things, and I felt that I couldn’t tell anybody, because everyone had this idea of me that I’m this confident, ‘I don’t give a fuck, nothing gets to me’-type of person - when actually that could not be further from the truth,” she said.
