Cass McCombs shares new video for ‘I’m A Shoe’

He’s off exploring a ghost town, as you do.

Ahead of some UK dates this month, Cass Mc Combs has shared a video for ‘I’m A Shoe’, the latest single from last year’s ‘Mangy Love’.

The clip has been directed by previous collaborator Rachel Pony Cassells, who said in a statement: “Creation, destruction, boom, ghost. In the song ‘I’m A Shoe’, Cass references the California boomtown / ghost town of Bodie, a town that rose to peak population in the late 1800’s gold rush. As people swarmed Bodie and scrambled to strike it rich, the town developed an unrivalled reputation for great violence, murder and a much feared figure – the ‘Bad Man of Bodie’.”

That kind of explains why there isn’t really a shoe in sight here. Well, except for the ones Cass is wearing as he runs around the abandoned town all alone, perhaps looking for this fabled ‘Bad Man of Bodie’. Considering the people here are supposed to be pretty violent, that doesn’t seem like such a good idea. Rest assured though, Cass is perfectly fine.
