Ceremony announce ‘The L-Shaped Man’ album, share two new tracks
Fifth LP is out via Matador this May.
Post-punk group Ceremony have announced details for their fifth album, ‘The L-Shaped Man’.
They’ve also shared two new tracks, ‘The Separation’ and ‘The Understanding’, threads from what’s loosely brought together as a concept, breakup album. The record explores frontman Ross Farrar’s recent personal split, and the idea of finding transformation through pain.
With that, Ceremony are also firmly stepping away from their hardcore roots. Both these songs represent new territory for the group, ‘The Separation’ in particular coming off like Interpol if they slept in ratty apartments instead of New York penthouses.
Check out both new tracks below a tracklist. ‘The L-Shaped Man’ is out 18th May on Matador.
