Chvrches’ Lauren Mayberry performs ‘I Need My Girl’ with The National
Treasure Island festival in San Francisco witnessed the unexpected collaboration.
The National last night (18th October) headlined the Treasure Island festival in San Francisco, and invited along none other than Lauren Mayberry to sing on their 2013 track ‘I Need My Girl’.
The Chvrches singer and Matt Berninger took turns at lines and verses, making it seem like they’d been doing this for years.
The National have been back in the news recently, playing a new song titled ‘Roman Candle’ last week at a benefit show in Los Angeles. It’s also reported that another new track by the name of ‘Checking Out’ was debuted last night at the San Francisco show, but no video footage of the track has yet emerged.
Matt Berninger releases his first album with new project EL VY - ‘Return To The Moon’ - on 30th October, and they’re set to tour it in the UK and Europe in December. He still seems to be making time for The National though, with new tracks sprouting quicker than ever.
