Chvrches’ second album is “coming along very nicely”
In a new statement the band confirm that they’re currently making progress in the studio.
Riding the synthy wave of their debut album ‘The Bones of What You Believe,’ Chvrches have shed further light on the progress towards album number two. Speaking to DIY earlier this month, the band’s Martin Doherty told us that they’d been doing “a lot of writing on the road. I think, initially, we were reluctant to do it,” he admits, “we sort of wanted to protect the dynamic of ‘three people in a room at once’ idea, because that’s the way that the first album came about. When you’ve been on tour as much as we have been in the past two years, you don’t really have a choice. You either create on the road or you don’t do anything and the idea of coming back after three years of doing absolutely nothing - and not even working those muscles creatively - is insane.”
In a recent statement Chvrches confirmed that their relentless touring schedule is on hold for the time being, and that the band are now squirrelled away working on their second record. “We’ve been busy in the studio in recent weeks working on our second album,” confirmed Chvrches in a statement. “The new songs are coming along very nicely and we can’t wait to share them with you.”
