Clarence Clarity announces new EP, shares ‘Those Who Can’t, Cheat’
Enigmatic producer confirms a) his debut release and b) that he has a face.
2013’s blog attention span was defined in part by Clarence Clarity, a mysterious, masked producer making scatterbrained pop out of distinct, distorted parts. A few rumblings stirred about his identity and despite maintaining a strict ‘music first, info later’ approach, he’s finally shown his face alongside news of an EP.
‘WHO AM EYE’ is being billed as a “project” - it’s out 1st December on Bella Union, consisting of four tracks.
The release is being headed up by ‘Those Who Can’t, Cheat’, a soulful shuffle that brings breathless vocals and dynamic Prince-isms in full supply. There’s also room for Bhangra-style solos and even the odd dog howl. It’s an anything goes ethos.
