Cloud Nothings stream Record Store Day remix album ‘Here And Nowhere Else (In Wingdings)’

The Ohio three-piece handed their 2014 album ‘Here And Nowhere Else’ over to local experimental artists.

When sorting through his record collection, Cloud Nothings founder and frontman Dylan Baldi noticed he didn’t have a single remix in his whole collection. So naturally Baldi rounded up his experimental musician friends from around Ohio, and arranged a full album of remixes to go on sale for Record Store Day.

The album, which is now streaming in full, is titled ‘Here And Nowhere Else (In Wingdings)’. It features remixes from Sam Goldberg, Outer Space, Factorymen, and more. At times it’s hardly recognisable as the scuzzy punk riffs of the original, and this is a whole other side of Cloud Nothings. It’s also a perfect opportunity for those who, like Cloud Nothings’ Baldi, haven’t embraced remixes in the past.

Speaking to FACT, Baldi said of the album:

“To be able to release a record like this is an honor, and I hope all of the people featured on this album know I think of it as such. These are not remixes as much as they are completely new songs, using our work only as the most skeletal outline and filling out the body with the utmost individual personality and creativity.”

The record is available via Northern Spy. Stream ‘Here And Nowhere Else (In Wingdings)’ below, via FACT.
