CMAT offers up new single ‘Whatever’s Inconvenient’
Her newest track is a first taste of her forthcoming second album.
CMAT has shared a brand new single ‘Whatever’s Inconvenient’. Her newest offering follows on from ‘Mayday’ - which landed back in January and was taken from the deluxe edition of her debut album ‘If My Wife New I’d Be Dead’ - and was recorded and produced in upstate New York with Bonny Light Horseman’s Josh Kaufman.
A first taste of her forthcoming second album, CMAT has said the following about the track: “Whatever’s Inconvenient is a bit of a mission statement for me (and for my second album). It’s a big question mark over why I am so unendingly bad at entering and maintaining romantic relationships. I don’t really answer the question here, because I can’t and probably never will, but it’s always helpful to acknowledge your own uselessness (I find).”
‘Whatever’s Inconvenient’ also lands ahead of a run of live shows for CMAT, which will kick off next month in Cork and includes stops at Live at Leeds in the Park, Black Deer and Y Not festivals. Listen to her new track below, and check out the tour dates below.
