Conan Gray shares reflective seasonal single ‘Holidays’
It’s his first new music since the release of his third album ‘Found Heaven’ in April.

Conan Gray has released a poignant new track entitled ‘Holidays’, which looks at the nostalgia and complexity of returning to your hometown around the Christmas season.
In contrast to the ’80s-indebted, high-octane pop of his third LP ‘Found Heaven’, this latest offering is an understated, acoustic-led ballad that the pop sensation has described as “a song about friendship”.
Explaining more about its inspirations, he has said that “the holidays have always been a bittersweet time for me, for so many reasons. Something about the air, the sappy music, the families, and all the expectations. But most of all, it’s witnessing the passage of time. Catching up with old friends and realizing that you might just be “catching up” forever now. That you’ll never be 17 again, living in the same town, waiting for winter break to end.”
Continuing, he shares: “I wanted to make a song that captured that feeling of coming back home to your hometown after moving away and seeing little bits and pieces slowly change - until one day you look around and your town just isn’t your town anymore. But the one thing that never seems to change is your friendships. I can leave for six months, but right when I land back in Texas, it’s like nobody left. The same food orders, the same dark coffee, and forever the same laughs. That’s what gets me through the holidays every year.”
The new single is his first new music since the release of ‘Found Heaven’ back in April, and received its live debut during Conan’s sold-out show at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden. He’s also set to bring his ongoing world tour to the UK next month for three sold-out shows; find out where he’s playing - and listen to ‘Holidays’ - below.
