Courtney Barnett to release The Lemonheads cover as b-side

Courtney Barnett has recorded a cover of The Lemonheads for her upcoming single ‘Pedestrian At Best’. Not for the first time, Barnett has covered the group’s ‘Being Around’, featured on their 1993 album ‘Come On Feel The Lemonheads’. ‘Pedestrian At Best’ is the first single taken from the forthcoming album ‘Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit’.

The ‘Being Around’ cover was shared on Marathon Television, the video channel of Barnett’s label Marathon Artists. She’s previously covered the track live and in sessions during the last year, eventually leading her to performing the track on stage with Lemonheads singer Evan Dando last year. Though the preview depicts footage of the 7” being played on vinyl, Barnett sounds as comfortable as ever performing one of her favourite tracks, adding her vernacular drawl and gently picked guitar to Dando’s tale of love.
