Dave Grohl gives VIP Foo Fighters tickets to terminally ill fan
Ken Powell is invited to the group’s upcoming Los Angeles show this September.
Dave Grohl has offered out VIP tickets for an upcoming Foo Fighters gig to a terminally ill fan.
Ken Powell - diagnosed with melanoma 14 years ago and classed as terminally ill since 2009 - has been given the chance to see the Foos in Los Angeles this September. Powell was initially meant to meet the band at his home city of Perth, Australia, but the meeting ended up cancelled due to Grohl being sick with food poisoning.
After being offered the LA tickets, Powell is using the opportunity to raise money for flights to America, as NME reports - any additional donations are being given to a cancer charity. At the time of writing, this Foos super fan has raised $10,270 of his $20k goal. Donate here.
