The next, next day?
David Bowie promises more new music, to be released “soon”
A follow-up to 2013’s ‘The Next Day’ could arrive sooner than expected.
A year on from his surprise comeback album ‘The Next Day’, David Bowie has confirmed that he’s working on more new music, set to be released “soon”.
The New York-based legend recently revealed his plans via a statement at a charity fundraiser in London’s 12 Bar. The event celebrated 50 years of Bowie’s music in aid of the Terrance Higgins Trust.
Bowie said in a typically curious statement: “This city is even better than the one you were in last year, so remember to dance, dance, dance. And then sit down for a minute, knit something, then get up and run all over the place. Do it. Love on ya. More music soon. David.”
‘The Next Day’ was Bowie’s 24th studio album, his first in ten years. It was nominated for the Mercury Prize and won the British Album of the Year at the 2014 BRIT Awards.
